Overview
This workshop is designed for dental students and clinicians and focuses on the latest developments in digital functional diagnostics, with an emphasis on the clinical application of surface electromyography (sEMG). By combining essential theoretical concepts with practical demonstrations, the course illustrates how sEMG can be used to accurately assess masticatory muscle activity and support clinical decision-making beyond traditional occlusal analysis. The non-invasive, patient-friendly nature of the technology allows for precise data collection without discomfort. Participants will learn how to correctly acquire, interpret, and apply objective functional data in order to enhance diagnostic accuracy and achieve more predictable outcomes in comprehensive dental treatment planning.
