Driven by his fascination for dental materials, he earned an MSc (PUC-RS) studying fiber-reinforced composites and a PhD (UERJ) exploring the transmission, reflectance and fluorescence of resin. His post-doctoral work at NYU advanced adhesive dentistry through pioneering research on plasma-treated dentin and bonding strength.
