Category A

Clinical or Preclinical

Dive into cutting-edge dental research. Whether it’s hands-on clinical insights or innovative preclinical studies, this section is your canvas. Share advancements that bridge theory and practice, shaping the future of dental science. Elevate your research and be a part of the evolving landscape.

Abstract Size

Your abstract must fit within the maximum limit of 250 words. Don’t forget to take in account this limitation while writing your entry. We know that it can be difficult to express all your creative ideas in such a small number of words, but, most of the times, delivering ideas in more clearer and shorter sentences can aid in creating the best outcome.

Authors & Qualifications

Don’t forget to mention the authors and co-authors of your paper, which can be a maximum of 5. It’s also very important to add everyone qualifications and academic status. To make this requirement more clearly, take a look below at the list of possible titles:

  • Romanian Summary: Acad. Dr. | Prof. univ. Dr. | Conf. univ. Dr. | Șef de lucrări Dr. | Asist. univ. Dr. | Dr.
  • English Summary: Acad. Dr. | Prof. Dr. | Assoc. Prof. Dr. | Lect. Dr. | Asist. Dr. | Dr.

Abstract Sections

In the scientific world, writing your abstract usually needs to follow the universal IMRaD structure, already a norm in all fields. To be considered valid, your abstract should be structured in accordance to this formula, thus containing the following sections: Introduction, Purpose, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussions, Conclusion and Key-words (3-5).

Time Limitation

Lastly, for the big day (presenting your article), you need to limit your presentation to 8 to 10 minutes. You’ll have to prepare a Power Point for the competition, which you’ll present in front of the jury.  We know that this little allowed time can sound very limiting, but try to resume your speech only to what matters the most in your scientific work.

Category B

Pecha Kucha

Ignite creativity and concise storytelling in the Pecha Kucha Category of the Lecture Competition. Embrace the challenge of presenting your research in a dynamic Pecha Kucha format – 20 slides, 20 seconds each. Share your insights with flair, weaving a compelling narrative within tight constraints. This category celebrates brevity, innovation, and the art of engaging communication. Join the Pecha Kucha challenge and make your research resonate in a visually captivating way.

Format

After sending the abstract by following the rules mentioned in the Clinical or Preclinical section, you need to make sure that your presentation is structured in a Power Point presentation of exactly 20 slides. We know that this can be tricky, but that’s the fun part of this category of the competition.

Theme

This is where the fun begins — your presentation can embrace any topic or theme close to your heart. Whether it’s a unique hobby, social cause, or a niche interest, the stage is yours to captivate the audience. Embrace the challenge of the Pecha Kucha format while exploring themes that fuel your enthusiasm. It’s not just a presentation; it’s a vibrant journey into the heart of what inspires you.

Dr. | Prof. Dr. | Assoc. Prof. Dr. | Lect. Dr. | Asist. Dr. | Dr.

Time Limitation

Lastly, you need to obviously limit your presentation to 6 minutes and 40 seconds, meaning exactly 20 seconds for each slide. The Power Point should have auto slide show enabled, thus each slide changing automatically after the allowed time expires.

Category C

Poster

This section is a celebration of visual storytelling and impactful research communication. Participants in the Poster Category have the unique opportunity to present their findings through compelling visual displays. From innovative scientific breakthroughs to engaging societal topics, this category invites you to craft a visually captivating poster that communicates the essence of your research. Join us in transforming your insights into an exhibition of knowledge and creativity. Let your poster be a visual symphony that captivates and informs, contributing to the rich tapestry of dental research at Dent-X Congress.

Structure and Template

While creating the Scientific poster, take in mind the following steps to make your work a bit easier to manage:

  • Starting of: Opt for your preferred editing program (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Publisher) and choose or create a visually appealing template. Select a complementary color palette to enhance visual appeal.
  • Content Lay-Out: Don’t forget to pay attention to font and size — prioritize the title (96 pts), subtitles, and paragraphs. Center and highlight the title. Include authors and bibliographic references just below.
  • Giving Credit: Lastly, place logos on the opposite side of the title, featuring both the Dent-X Congress logo and your university’s logo.

Sections to Follow

Try to minify the text and sections for a balanced composition. In the scientific world, adhering to the universal IMRaD structure is crucial. Your abstract should contain the following sections: Introduction, Purpose, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussions, Conclusion, and Key-words (3-5).

Don’t mention the entire text of your article as if you are going to publish it in the abstract book. Follow the 40/40/20 rule — maintain a balance of 40% images and tables, 40% free space, and 20% text.

Time is the Key for Succes

Ensure your scientific presentation can be grasped in just 10 minutes. Keep it concise, engaging, and memorable for every reader. Your success is rooted in clarity and impact!
